Brassolaeliocattleya Husky Boy 'Romeo' have excellent bright yellow flowers. They may or may not develop red spots on the lip with age. Cattleya's are considered as the most popular orchids.
Light: Sufficient light is important for their growth and flowering. Indirect or shaded sunlight will be good for the plants. Foliage should be a medium olive green.
Temperature: Cattleya's can tolerate a wide range of temperatures between 10 to 30°C. Cattleyas can cope with temperatures up to 38°C with more shade, air circulation and water supply.
Watering: Young plants and seedlings require uniform wet soil. Fully grown plants should be watered only when nearly dry.
Humidity: A range from 40-60% humidity is generally recommended. Misting or humidity trays could be used.
Fertilizing: NPK 20:20:20 could be used twice a month.
Potting: Course medium is most suitable. Bark, small rocks, coconut husk etc provide good drainage. |
